Heather Deaton joined Ellenbecker Investment Group in 2016. She works with clients to identify their goals and navigate their financial journey with confidence and conviction. Heather takes a collaborative and educational approach with a bit of humor to help clients feel at ease and comfortable talking about their finances. Throughout her career, she has grown her passion for relationships, client experience and commitment to service, while leveraging her industry knowledge and strengths.
Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UW-Eau Claire. She has successfully passed her Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law exam. Heather has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 2019 after completing educational course requirements in Financial Planning, Retirement Planning, Tax Planning, Estate Planning and Insurance Planning. Heather is a Chartered SRI Counselor (CSRIC™), gaining knowledge of the foundations, principles and trends of sustainable, responsible and impact investing to specialize in strategies to align client’s investing with their values.
Heather has a passion for service, sustainability and relationships. She is President of the Fondy Food Center Board of Directors, bringing healthy food and economic opportunity to Greater Milwaukee through farmers markets, land access and food security. At St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Heather is a trained Stephen Minister, providing one-on-one comfort and support to people experiencing a life crisis. Heather was awarded 2023 Corporate Volunteer of the Year by the Milwaukee BizTimes Media. She serves on the Wauwatosa Sustainability Committee, appointed by the mayor of Wauwatosa. Heather, her husband Eric Oquist and their two sons live in Wauwatosa. They enjoy gardening, hiking, biking and playing board games together.
