In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Michael Anthony, trauma coach and the founder of Think Unbroken. Think Unbroken is about sharing the tools and skills he has created and leveraged over a lifetime to help other people break free of The Vortex and become the person that they know they are capable of being. After hs Mirror Moment” Michael created the life he wanted through self-actualization and mindset training. Michale shares his approach to mindset and how minor shifts can help you get unstuck, why it’s important to take an approach of compassion instead of judgment, and how he went from surviving to thriving.

Bio:

As a mentor for adult survivors of child abuse, I think it would be a massive disservice to you if I didn’t have trauma. I am a survivor of child abuse. My story is not that different from many thousands of people in the world. Raised by a drug addict and alcoholic mother who cut my finger off, a father that I never met, a hyper-abusive stepfather, and was molested by a member of the Mormon Church. I had to find their way through the world with no real guidance, compassion, or support. Adopted at 13 by a racist grandmother, I found myself face-first in full-on drug addiction and identity crisis. Yes at 13 I was a drug addict and on my way to alcoholism. Between the guns, drugs, crime, and poverty I was facing life as just another statistic The next 15 years of my life was filled with drugs, alcohol, hookups, suicide attempts, morbid obesity, lies, panic attacks, rage, and ultimately, total breakdown. Then one day, everything changed.

Almost six years I ago, I faced the truth that I was fucking up my life. I was to blame for all the mistakes I was making. And I was the only person that could become the person that I knew I was capable of being. I discovered how to tap into my true inner potential through a series of practices and different modalities around mindfulness, self-love, and understanding the impact of trauma from a scientific level. Today I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been.

I have seen the darkest of the dark and the lightest of the light. We are in this together.
