Bio:
Kate Kobs is a Human Resources leader and organizational development professional with experience guiding multi-entity and multi-location operations across a wide range of Human Resources disciplines. She currently works at an oil company with a complex organizational structure and has previously held HR management roles in manufacturing and local government. She is a member of both local and national SHRM, Society for Human Resource Management, and serves on the Sheboygan Area SHRM Board of Directors as Treasurer. In this role, she helps support and advance the HR profession at both the organizational and community level which reflects on her commitment to the HR profession and SHRM’s mission and vision.
In addition to her civilian leadership roles, Kate serves as a Human Resources Sergeant in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, where she supports personnel readiness, administrative operations, and mission focused human resources functions. Her military service has strengthened her leadership style, discipline, and ability to perform in high accountability environments. Over the past decade, she has built a strong foundation in compliance, employee relations, and organizational systems. Her experience includes leading major benefits transformations such as transitioning organizations to self-funded healthcare plans within a captive model, overhauling employee handbooks, supporting acquisitions and integrations, developing communication strategies, and managing complex employee relations situations with a focus on de-escalation and leading by example.
Kate holds SHRM-CP and PHR credentials, along with a Master of Science in Leadership and Organizational Development with an emphasis in Human Resources Management. She also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, a graduate level Human Resources certificate, and an Associate’s Degree.
Outside of work, Kate is a dedicated mother, fitness enthusiast, and lifelong learner. She is a proud fur mom to a dog, two cats despite being allergic, and ten chickens. She loves to travel and has visited 32 states, Australia, several tropical destinations, and most recently took her first trip to Europe.
