Bio:

What happens when you combine a global financial crisis with a personal mid-life crisis?

Peter Alessandria is an award-winning, internationally-published photographer, filmmaker, author, TEDx speaker and former entertainment attorney. He has a unique story that’s been a source of inspiration for many. After the Global Financial Crisis robbed him of his law practice in 2008, Peter decided to renew his life by doing what he loves: photography and fimmaking.

Since then Peter has amassed more than 75 Awards for his work and has travelled the globe as a visual artist. However, the transition from lawyer to creative professional wasn’t smooth sailing.

For almost three years, Peter struggled to get his new business going. Initially he thought the problem was a myriad of factors outside himself, such as the economy, a lack of formal education in the arts, etc. But it turns out what was holding him back were his own limiting thoughts and beliefs about himself. He had a very negative self-image when it came to being a creative person. How he overcame those challenges by changing his self-image is what his book, “Be Bigger Than You Think You Are!® Overcoming Our Self-Imposed Limits to Have the Life We Want,” is about.

Today Peter is a full-time author, photographer and filmmaker. His most recent project is the documentary entitled, “Every Soul Knows: The Joy of Remembering Who We Really Are.” Featuring more than 60 interviews, the film addresses 35 of the most common questions about the afterlife and explores the idea that Who We Really Are is much more than our physical bodies and human personality.
