Cody Nuernberg from BLD Connection joins us this week to discuss the importance of being a part of an association. Cody and Dave explore the benefits of being in an association, such as access to best industry practices, valuable connections, ongoing education and opportunities for engagement. If you are looking to elevate your business, consider joining your local association and positioning yourself as a leader in your industry.
Bio:
Cody Nuernberg is the President of BLD Connection since 2013 – formerly known as Northwestern Lumber Association & Mid-America Lumbermen’s Association. BLD Connection – as the Association is now known – stands for Building Material & Lumber Dealer Connection which also doubles as a call to action for its members to Build Connection. Connection with the Association, Connection with the vendor community and Connection with one another. In total, BLD Connection represents over 1,600 building material dealers and 200+ suppliers in 10 states including Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Upper Michigan & Wisconsin. Together we are one of the largest LBM associations in the country!
Cody began his career in Association Management in 2010 after almost 15 years in the golf business. After saying for years, that he would NEVER work in the association industry (like his mother did), he took a chance with Northwestern Lumber Association, starting as a Membership Manager and the rest as they say is history! Cody played college golf and is a graduate of Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, surfing, boating and chasing around his kids at hockey, football and dance. Yes – Cody is a dance dad! And broke as a joke!
